Stacey A. Perez Sr. Obituary, CLEVELAND, Ohio — Stacey A. Perez Sr., 55, has died following a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 90 in Cleveland early Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were dispatched shortly after 1 a.m. after receiving a report of a person down in the roadway on eastbound I-90 near the Eddy Road exit.
According to preliminary radio traffic, a gray Mazda SUV may have rear-ended Perez’s motorcycle, sending the motorcyclist into the roadway. He was then reportedly struck by a semi-truck.
EMS crews responded to the scene as authorities closed portions of eastbound I-90 near the MLK area while investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
Perez was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Authorities later released his identity as Stacey A. Perez Sr., 55.
Investigators are continuing to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the crash, including the reported collision between the Mazda SUV and motorcycle and the subsequent impact involving the semi-truck.
